Pamukkale travertines are a natural site located in southwestern Turkey. They are famous for their white terraces made of travertine, a form of limestone deposited by mineral-rich hot springs. The terraces look like cascading pools filled with water and create a stunning landscape often compared to cotton castles. Pamukkale is also home to ancient ruins of the city of Hierapolis, making it both a geological and historical attraction.
